William Thomas completed a degree in Political Science and Media/Communication Studies at Southwestern University, a Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Language at the University of Texas at Austin, and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Adult Learning at the University of North Texas. He is also a trained facilitator of the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and materials.
William has taught a full range of writing courses including developmental and honors writing at the university level. In addition, he is an experienced English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor in both Texas and Virginia, expanding program curricula to include preparation for the U.S. citizenship exam, personal narrative, and public speaking. In 2019, he established the Inhabited Learning Initiative as a community outreach service for adult learners. This initiative focuses on facilitating special-interest discussion groups and providing individualized guidance in using executive functions for academic management.
As a published author, professional copyeditor, and proofreader he has experience with editing academic work, including editing for professional scholarly publications. He is well-versed in the following citation styles: Modern Language Association (MLA); American Psychological Association (APA); and the Chicago Manual of Style (Chicago). He is an experienced freelance editor, accommodating online orders for academic and other professional writing, persuasive analysis, personal narratives, descriptive blogs, and other creative projects.
